Family of a slain transgendered woman urges NY for Hate Crime Laws

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The family of a slain transgendered woman is joining with national gay rights groups urging New York lawmakers to add transgendered people to the state’s nine-year-old hate crime law.

Senate Could Propose ‘Don’t Ask,’ Hate Crimes Provisions

If  it comes to the Senate floor as planned this week, U.S. Senators are considering the introduction of LGBT-related amendments to the fiscal year 2010 defense authorization bill.
